"The least of things with a meaning is worth more in life than the greatest of things without it." CG Jung
Human patterns of thinking and feeling are stubbornly resistant to change, and conventional mental health care is not up to the task. I see people taking ineffective medications for years, while "talk therapy" does not make the deep psychic & somatic inroads necessary for change. The conventional view is that symptoms are enemies that need to be vanquished instead of understanding them as wise messages from our Inner Healer that our system is out of balance and that our fundamental human emotional needs have not/are not being met. The public is resigned to mental health care that is compartmentalized, mechanistic, and consumeristic, and unsure how to advocate for an alternative.
We are living in a "meaning crisis" in the West. People are facing increasing socio-cultural existential bewilderment and psychic homelessness. Belonging, connection, purpose, and meaning are evaporating from our heart-minds. In this landscape, life challenges and childhood traumas become very difficult to meet with resiliency. In this landscape, resolution of trauma and reclaiming the health that is our birthright requires strong & clear guidance and effort, the willingness to experience discomfort, and the courage to be honest with ourselves and others.

While our modern ways of life largely disconnect us from our inner sensate intelligence, the eternally-abiding aspect of who we are seeks purpose, connection, and meaning during our time on earth, and is not defined by illness or trauma.

The work I offer is grounded in ancient & integral understandings of what healthy human development can look like, and in my commitment to my own health. I teach my patients how to develop mindfulness, compassion, and attunement to self and Spirit in the service of healing and growth.
